Lake Hopatcong

Eight anglers battled it out on lake hopatcong on a hot summer day.  Dave Lindabury was able to capture his first victory of the 2011 season by weighting in the most fish of any angler.  Dave's 4 fish for 6lbs 13oz was enough for the Win.  Coming in Second AGAIN!! was Brandon Siztler ( MARTENS).  Brandon caputured his 4th second place finish in as many attempts.  Brandon weighted in 2 fish for 4lb 7oz along with big fish which weighted 3lbs 3oz..

Farrington Lake

This was the smallest turn out of the year with only seven members at the ramp.  The water was muddy, but the weather was great.  Bob took first place with 4 fishweighing in at 8lbs.  Brandon (always a bridesmaid) took second place again with 2 fish weighing 4.07lbs.  Brandon and Bob tied for lunker with a 2.10lb. bass. All seven members did manage to bring to the scales 15 fish weight totaling 22.38lbs.

Carnegie Lake

Nine members of BCB found Carnegie to be one big mud puddle.  Dave Stewart with only two fish took first place and lunker.  He reported his fish came off lay downs on the right side of the lake.  Dave had two fish for 5.04 lbs. but one of those fish was 3.05 lbs. which gave him lunker and just enough to beat out Brandon's three fish totaling 4.14 lbs.  This is Brandons second consecutive 2nd place win.  This is going to be one of the best angler of the year race ever.

Merrill Creek

BCB had to endure some of the worst weather conditions (dense fog, cold, wind, rain, and lightning) of any tournament in the last couple years.  For all but one boat fishing was tough.   Jay and Brandon fishing together on the same boat caught over 25 lbs.  They were fishing senkos on the points off the standing woods in 4 to 8 ft. of water.  Jay with 14 lbs. took first place and Brandon with 11 plus lbs. took second and lunker with a 3.10 lb. bass.  Great job done by both.

On May 28th, 13 members of BCB met at the Manasquan ramp with a dense fog bank. When the fog burned off the fish turned on and the reservoir and mother nature (water temperature in the 70s, sun, blue skies and a cool breeze) gave BCB the best tournament of the year. 51 fish weighing 85.13 lbs. were brought to the scales. 7 members had 5 fish limits, not bad for a tournament of 13. Dave Stewart is BACK! Dave, one of the best bed fisherman around, won his first tournament of this season. He fished the gravel flat by the pump house using a keitech swim bait (3.8 in. cinnamon black flake) and a football jig with a smallie beaver and a centipede. This gave Dave an impressive 12.06 lb. limit and 3.09 lunker. Most of Dave's fish were caught in 10 ft. of water. Carl Fontana (Mr. Consistency) took 2nd place again. He fished the road bed by the eagle's nest targeting wood in 2ft. or less water. Carl used a purple and green beaver. He changed over to a drop shot later in the day and nailed a nice size lg mouth and this was his only deep water fish (9ft.). Joe Fontana shared lunker with Dave Stewart catching the same fish off a bed.

Deal Lake 4/30/11

Stone Tavern 4/9/11

The day was sunny with a light breeze and the water temperature was 49 degrees in the morning and 55 degrees in the afternoon.  Mid-day I counted 22 boats and

2 kayaks, the most I have ever seen on the lake.  BCBass had 7 boats with 12 members.  A nice turn out for our first tournament.

Brandon fished a rattle trap over a shallow grass bed.  He was rewarded with a 3.97 lb. lunker.  He added 2 more fish which was enough to take first place with a

weight of 6.16 lbs.  Job well done!

Jay had 4 fish for 5.19 lbs. good for second place.  Jay reported he had over a dozen fish on the day.  Small ones caught on crank bait, keepers on silver buddy.

Jim weighed in 2 fish for 3.58 lbs. and took third place.  He fished a french fry in 6 to 7 feet of water off the main lake flat.  The fish were feeding and taking a

Tad Drummond put together a solid 5 bass limit of 9.07lbs to capture his 3rd victory of the year.  Tad was dead in the water until a quick repair job to his trolling motor had him up and running.  Good thing he fixed it because he was ready to pack it up for the day.  Carl Fontana, who was fishing with Tad, beat out his son  by 1oz to capture second place with  2 bass weighing in at 6lbs.  He also weighed in lunker of the day a 3.08 largemouth.  The majority of the bass Tad and Carl  caught were  on Senkos.

Thompson Captures first BCB Victory

On a day when many members struggled to get a bite Jim Thompson was able to bring the only  5 fish Limit to the scales weighing in at 8.06 lbs and capturing his first BCB Victory.  Way to go Jim.  Second place went to Jay Tuttas who was also able to bring 4 bass to the scales for a weight of 7.07 lbs.   Tom Faulkes was the Lunker winner of the day bringing a 5.06 lb largemouth to the scales

6/13/09- Delaware River

Congrats goes out to Frank Pannick for Capturing his first victory on the 2009 Season on the Delaware River.  Frank Put together a solid limit of 5 Largemouth weighting in at 8.09 lbs.  He also took home the lunker prize with a 2lb largemouth.  Second Place went to Jim Thompson for bringing a limit of fish to the scales that weighted in at 7.15lbs.  Frank and Jim fished together and were definitely on some solid river fish.  I also want to acknowledge Jay Tuttas and Dave Kalmes for also bringing a 5 fish limit to the scales which is not always and easy thing to do on the Delaware.

5/16/09 - Deal Lake

BCB got a GOOD DEAL on there 3rd tourney of the season.  14 members fished with everyone weighing in at least 1 fish.  By far the best tourney of the season,  as far as fish catching.  Congrats to Joe Fontana for putting together a solid limit weighing 12.06 lbs and capturing his first victory of the year.  Joe’s bag was anchored by a 3.15 lb largemouth that took lunker honors.  Coming in second place was Frank Pannick who also brought a solid five fish limit to the scales weighing in at 9.02 lbs.  Good job to everyone that participated and weighed fish!!  Next up the Delaware River 6/13

5/2/09 - Flats

The "Stingy" Flats... On a Rainy overcast day 14 members ventured out on the Flats looking to bring back a 5 fish Limit.  Unfortunately no one successed,  But Tad Drummond was able to put together a solid winning bag consistanting of 4 fish for 9.13lbs Coming in Second was BCB Rookie Carl Swanson.  Carl brought 3 fish to the scales for 7.09 lbs including lunker of the day a 3.04lb Largemouth.  Of the 14 members who fished only 5 brought a keeper to the scale.  Many members mentioned that catching fish wasn't the problem but getting 15 inchers was tough to do.

4/4/09- Stone Tavern

Wind, Wind and more Wind...... That was the theme of this tournament.  On a tough day where the wind blew constantly 20-25 mph with gusts approaching 45mph, Tad Drummond, was able to bring a 4 fish limit to the scales that weighed 6.03lbs which beat second place finisher Carl Fontana by .06 onces.  Carl managed to bring the only 5 fish limit to the scales but was missing a kicker.  His 5 fish weighed 5.13lbs.  Kevin Lowden was the Lunker winner weighing a 3.03 lb chunck.  Kudos to all that braved the conditions.  Also a special thanks to Mercer County Bassmasters for changing the location of their first official/unofficial outting of the year

3/21/09 - Stone Tavern (ice breaker)

Congratulations to Frank Pannick and Tad Drummond for being the only team to bring a limit to the scales.  The limit of 5 fish weighed 8.03lbs.  Carl Fontana and Dave Lindabury also had a solid day weighing in 4 fish for 6.01lbs.  The other teams that participated mentioned that it was difficult to just get a bite.  Now that is Ice is Broken lets get 2009 STARTED!!
